Installing Anti- Virus- REQUIRED

To remain connected to the School network, all computers must have up-to-date anti-virus/spyware/malware protection software and the latest operating system patches installed. Please be aware that while many new computers come with such software, these are often trial versions which expire during the school year, leaving your student’s computer unprotected. A computer found to have a virus or other potentially malicious program will be removed from the network until the computer has been cleaned and found to be virus-free.

Given the potential of damage to personal computing devices, and impact it could have to the community, the ITS Department would like to make the following recommendations for Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS:

For MacOS, we recommend:

For Windows, we recommend:

**ITS bases these recommendations upon current research of anti-malware products and professional reviews. No anti-virus/anti-malware product is perfect; as such, ITS makes no guarantee, implicit or explicit, that the anti-malware program recommended will protect against all malicious activity.
